Why Do I Need a Savior?
Although many believe they will go to heaven because they are a “good person”, have done charity work, was baptized as a child, or attended church, the Bible declares that none of us—by human works or effort —can live up to God’s standard of righteousness.
But God, the Creator of all living things, loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for the sin of ALL mankind.
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NLT
Jesus took the penalty for the sin that separated us from our Heavenly Father. He was crucified, buried, rose again and will soon return for those who believe in Him. Because of His offering, we can have a personal relationship with Him.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT
No matter who you are, where you’re from, your social standing or your culture, EVERYONE must decide whether or not they will follow Christ.
This isn’t about choosing a religion; it isn’t about going to church; it isn’t about following rules. This is about believing in Jesus and allowing Him to transform your life.
Whether you once knew Him and walked away or have never met Him, Jesus gladly accepts you. He already paid the debt for your sin when He hung on the cross as a sacrifice for all mankind. He rose again and will soon return for those who believe in Him.
Again, this isn’t about religion! Jesus wants you to experience the freedom that comes from a RELATIONSHIP with Him. A relationship with Jesus doesn’t mean that issues of life disappear. It means that you no longer have to carry the burdens of life alone.
If you allow Him, Jesus will always be there to guide you, to comfort you, to protect you and cause you to stand strong. He will NEVER leave you or abandon you!
How Can I Be Saved?
Salvation is a gift but you must accept it. You can receive Jesus Christ, by faith, through prayer. The following is a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me! I believe that You died for my sins and rose again so I could live a life of freedom in You. Please come into my heart today, purify me and cause my life to be pleasing to You from this day forward.
